ISSUE. 023: The Heartbreak Hoodie

Heartbreak creates Bodybuilders, a phrase we hear way too often. An end to a relationship can feel like an extinguished light in your life because when the heart breaks, the body naturally goes into full survival mode and every little action after is deliberately done towards your healing as you’re clouded by this newfound shadow cast over you.

Your body instinctively does everything and anything it can to no longer feel this way. No one likes to feel hopeless and vulnerable, it’s uncomfortable, you no longer have access to the relationship you had, it’s done, finished, finito. This is where the bodybuilder is created because you can’t control the loss, but you can make a change in your life and get consumed from the aches & soreness to take its place. You realize you can control your workouts, your meals, and your goals. Nothing and no one can take that away from you.

When a light in your life disappears, just know you can use that as a fuel to burn an even brighter one to replace the old & light your way down this new path. The key is trusting the process, Trust that the pain you’re going through is temporary but the work you put in during this period will yield permanent results. Trust that there is more to life than relationships, trust there is more to life than pain and tragedy because In the end, pain is just that, a push to make or break you, What are you gonna make of it? 😤🐃🤘🏽
